Golden Boy Nava

A writer of gay mystery novels and staff attorney for California Supreme Court Justice Carlos Moreno wants to become the state’s first openly homosexual appellate court justice.

Michael Nava, 52, a 1981 graduate of Stanford Law School, “is in the running” for a seat on the California 1st District Court of Appeal based in San Francisco, the web site Law.com reported May 31. Noting that Nava is “also Catholic and Latino,” Law.com writer Mike McKee described Nava as “a can’t-miss diversity pick.”
