Travelogue: Switzerland

I just got back from 8 days in Switzerland, where I was went to work on an innovation event with some of the brightest and most creative minds in Europe. I found Switzerland to be a beautifully idyllic place with friendly and courteous people.

Although the chocolate and cheese fondue were exquisite, one of the best things I ate was a “royal doner kebap box” which was a container layered with chicken, french fries and a variety of sauces, and lettuce and tomato. The German/Turkish kebap was unlike anything I’ve ever tasted. I had a great time shopping but it always make me sad to go so far and come across the same old things like H&M, Mango, Apple, and McDonalds. Oh, globalization, you stink!

One really cool place we ate at was Chasalp, where we had authentic Swiss food. It’s located in the forest and has a rabbit viewing area where you can watch the rabbits as you eat. One cool thing about the place too was that they gave our table tons of postcards to fill out for friends back home, which they mailed for us.

Even though the round trip flight was 15 hours long in total, I got to catch up on a few movies and watched 50/50, My Week with Marilyn, Anonymous, and J. Edgar while flying over the expanse of the Atlantic.

Here are a few pictures from my adventures in Zurich and Lucerne, Switzerland:
