LATINO LITERARY NOW ANNOUNCES 2006
8th ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL LATINO BOOK AWARD WINNERS

Latino Literary Now, a non-profit organization supporting literacy and literary excellence within the Latino community, seeks to recognize the many positive contributions being made to the world of Latino literature via the International Latino Book Awards. The 8th annual awards, given on May 20 at The Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC, were presented in conjunction with the 2006 BookExpoAmerica. These awards honor literary excellence in a variety of categories.

The 2006 Latino Book Awards judging panel included: Frank Cota-Robles Newton, Virgie Kamhi, Dennis Hernandez Emilio Sanchez, Ignacio Gomez, Roberto Chavez, John Valdez, Manuel Murrieta, Andy Valenzuela, Arturo Garcia, Felipe Casillas, Nora Sandoval, Veronica Murguia, Christian DeAnda, Georgette Baker, Jess Nieto, Jesus Menera, Kathy Diaz, Jose Galvez, Magdalena Whisler, Melanie Sloane, Maria Romero, Myriam Grajales-Hall, Gloria Garcia, Aida R. Vasquez, John Echeveste, Yolanda Nava and John Reza.
