I read this in Spanish a while back. Although understandably nowhere near as good as The Shadow of the Wind, it was a very good, entertaining book. The action scenes were breathtakingly written and there was a lot of the familiar literary style of Zafón that readers of the Shadow of the Wind will find familiar. I wonder who the translator of the English version is. Lucía Graves did a fantastic job on The Shadow of the Wind.
